What you will learn

1
Conflict Management

Conflicts are a normal (if for most unpleasant) part of lab life. We look at how you can recognize conflicts more easily and learn how to deal with them before they get completely out of hand.

2 1
Conflict Tools

You’ll learn essential tools for diagnosing, managing, and resolving conflicts, including checklists, facilitation techniques, and conflict analysis models. You’ll also develop skills for handling emotions, providing feedback, and negotiating effective solutions.

3 1
Communication

You practise with a model that helps you to evaluate your day-to-day communication and to learn how to influence this beneficially.

4
Assertiveness

Here we explore ways that you can get your point across and defend your position fairly, learn how to set and defend your boundaries and generally work with self-confidence.

5 1
Negotiation

We introduce you to the Harvard Project on Negotiation approach to constructive negotiation.

6
Feedback

You learn how to give appropriate feedback in the lab and how to formulate criticism without hurting somebody
